In partnership with the Los Angeles County Community Development Commission, Lewis/Schoeplein Architects has worked to provide design and construction documents for the renovations of businesses located in underserved communities throughout LA County. The program offers grants to business owners within a budget range of $10,000 - $50,000 per storefront in an effort to rejuvenate and upgrade building aesthetics, accessibility and infrastructure. Business owners are provided a range of designs from contracted Architects in the city that are selected by the CDC and they work directly with the Architects to ensure they receive a design that responds to their own needs and aspirations as well. The results are well designed and low cost projects that make a positive impact on the area and the businesses.
